Required Workshop for Adelphi Employees

Anti-Harassment and Title IX

This training explores discrimination in the workplace; based upon gender and other protected classes. Participants will explore responsibilities and reporting mechanisms under the law and the University policy.  Additionally, participants will consider how to go beyond compliance to promote connection and dialogue to make their offices pleasant and productive work environments.

The Diversity Certificate Program is designed to promote a positive, respectful work place and learning space for all of our constituents. Leadership and Management Certificate

The Leadership and Management Certificate Program is a series of professional development workshops for managers and supervisors at Adelphi University. The program uses a flipped learning strategy to deliver instructional content, first online, then through face-to-face facilitated discussions around a series of topics including interviewing practices, team management, critical thinking and intercultural leadership.

The Technology Competency Certificate Program is a self-directed online learning program designed for Local 153 employees and other administrative professionals at Adelphi University. This program offers instruction on computer skills and competencies in Microsoft and Google applications, as well as Doodle, a calendar scheduling app.

Lean Sigma Academy

The Lean Sigma 1.0 program at Adelphi University is broken down into three components; Lean Education for University Leadership (one three-hour workshop plus online content), Lean Awareness (two two-hour workshops plus online content) and Lean Awareness II (one two-hour workshop plus online content).

Lean Education for University Leadership

The Lean Leadership Workshop is recommended for key department heads and leaders in business units across the University.

Lean Awareness

Lean Awareness, designed for administrators, is two (two-hour) concurrent workshops that cover the philosophy of Lean as well as some basic tools that attendees can use. It is recommended that all administrators take these workshops. Attendees of Lean Education for University Leadership are welcome to participate in the Lean Awareness workshops.

Learn Awareness II

The goal of this Lean workshop is to demonstrate how you could reduce waste and add value to an existing process in your department.
