Cindy Donnelly, MA, SPHR

Cindy oversees and is responsible for Human Resources, Title IX, and Labor Relations at the University. Working closely with university leadership, Deans, Directors, and unions, she and her team develop the strategy and tactics, policies and processes for compensation and benefit design and delivery, talent recruitment and retention, management and organization development, culture shaping, and organizational change management. Donnelly also oversees the HRIS and Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) team. She serves as a Liaison to the Work/Life Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Talent Management and Labor Relations

Jane oversees Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Training and Development, Employee and Labor Relations for the university. She works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer, Human Resources Partners (HRPs), and the other HR functions to develop and implement best practices in the areas of recruitment, training and organizational development, employee engagement, culture change, and union contract negotiations.

Karen is responsible for the design and implementation of the University’s benefits and non-union compensation strategy. She develops and implements pay structures, as well as all benefits, including healthcare, retirement (403B), and all other ancillary benefits such as dental, life insurance, tax-advantaged flexible spending accounts, work-life programs, and wellness.

Joanna Ocampo

Joanna assists the Director of Total Rewards in the administration and communication of benefit and leave-of-absence programs. Joanna provides information and assistance to employees with benefit questions and resolves routine and complex issues. She oversees the administration of all leaves of absence for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), New York Paid Family Leave (NYPFL), and unpaid leaves and disability. In addition, she participates in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) projects, planning, and administration for current and future HRIS systems.


Renaire Frierson, JD

Title IX Coordinator/Director, Equity and Compliance

Frierson oversees Title IX, Discrimination and Harassment Compliance. She develops, delivers, and oversees Title IX programs as well as the protected class discrimination and harassment programs for students, faculty, and staff. She also serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator, investigates Title IX claims and supervises the Title IX Investigator and a panel of investigators. She provides ongoing training, consultation, and technical assistance on Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, -SAVE, VAWA, ADA, ADAAA and other federal and state anti-discrimination laws, regulations and requirements for all students and employees, with specialized training content for hearing officers/boards, investigators, campus law enforcement, and appeals officers.

Natalie Johnson, PhD

Natalie is responsible for assisting the Title IX Coordinator/Director, Equity and Compliance with institutional compliance efforts required under federal and state laws, including Title IX, Title VII, VAWA and Article 129-B of the Education Law. She works closely with the Title IX Coordinator/Director, Equity and Compliance in managing an assigned caseload of investigations involving allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, stalking and other forms of protected class discrimination, harassment, and related retaliation. In addition, she assists in the design and facilitation of training, management and organization development programs, including mediation and facilitation of school and department problem-solving sessions.

Brian is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that aim to improve the skills and knowledge of employees by working with key stakeholders (Deans/Department Head). He creates, curates and delivers/oversees the certificate and badge programs in Diversity, Leadership and Management Development, Customer Service and Technology Competency. He is also involved in “Train-the-Trainer” and transfer of competency for facilitators.

Steve supervises Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) planning, development, reporting and support, and manages the personnel system of record for the university. He also manages the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC.) The HRSC is a small group of cross-trained HR professionals and specialists who handle:

  • All HR transactions (hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, payroll changes, and terminations)
  • Organization charts and organizational reporting
  • Interface with payroll
  • 403B reconciliation and interface to TIAA and Fidelity
  • Interface with healthcare and insurance providers
  • Worker’s compensation
  • Employment verifications

Annette Leone

Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) Supervisor

Annette is responsible for keeping all  job descriptions and organizational charts up to date. She oversees the biweekly, full-time faculty, student, hourly and part-time faculty data that feeds to payroll. In addition, she approves, processes, and enters all employment-related paperwork into the SAAS system, and supervises the HRSC staff on routine and more difficult matters.

Donna Kiesche

Human Resources Representative/Workers Compensation Coordinator

Donna provides administrative support to the Office of Human Resources in the areas of payroll, billing, and policy questions. She processes all new hire paperwork for student workers and part-time (adjunct) faculty, and processes the student and part-time faculty payroll. She manages overtime payments, maintains benefit payments for retirees and COBRA participants, and the processing of our (403B) defined contribution plan. She also handles all Worker’s Compensation for the University. Donna also works on special projects.

Jennifer Maron

Jennifer provides general office support to the reception area of Human Resources and to the HR Service Center (HRSC).  She is responsible for answering incoming calls, directly handles inquiries or refers them to the proper HR staff member regarding concerns, questions, policies, and procedures. She processes employment verifications, collects and distributes new hire paperwork, processes hourly employee new hire paperwork, hourly payroll, and other personnel changes (i.e. name/address changes). Jennifer also works on special projects.
